We have a Justice of the Peace available Mondays to Saturdays.

No appointments required. Just drop in between 10.00am – 12noon

Every Wednesday we have a table tennis session from 9am to 11.30am in our main hall. Bats and balls are provided.

Vinnies – Social Worker

Kim Sheehan is a Community Social Worker from St Vincent de Paul and is based at the Community Centre every second Friday. Kim is happy to assist clients who need a Social Worker and will act as an advocate for clients with WINZ or other organisations. Craft Group

The Craft group is free and open for anyone to join. So if you are interested in learning to knit or crochet or have skills you would like to share with others or would just like to have some fun why not come along and join in. The group meet on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm – tea and coffee is provided.

 

 

Social English for Women

Social English for Women

This is a friendly social group where women can  learn and practice their English and also find out about New Zealand customs. They meet on Thursday mornings during school terms from 9.30am to 11.30am. Cost is $2 per session.

Wellington High School hold English in the Community classes at the Community Centre for eight weeks during school terms. Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Shut Up and Dance

Shut Up and Dance Classes

Classes will be held Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the hall, starting Monday 30th April. Every class is different, and a surprise, so everyone’s as clueless as each other. Save a Life – Give blood. The NZ Blood Service will be at the Centre to collect blood on Thursday 30th August from 9.00am – 2.00pm. Appointments are preferred and will take priority.

Johnsonville Community Centre Toy Library

Are your kids bored with their old toys? Come and borrow ours! Get access to hundreds of toys and puzzles for 0 to 7 year olds for a small fee, annual and term memberships are available. We are open during school terms on Thursdays from 7.15pm to 8.45pm and Saturdays from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Bas van der Hoeven conducts a drama therapy program at the Community Centre for clients with brain injuries, aspergers, the intellectually disabled, bipolar, conduct disorder and other psychological conditions.

Travel Club

A Travel Club has been set up in the Northern Suburbs. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. All welcome, members free and non members $4 including tea and biscuits. Club activities include talks on travel, movie outings and casual Sunday afternoon walks.

Tai Chi

Classes are held in the main hall every Wednesday. Intermediate/Advanced from 1pm to 2pm and beginners from 2pm to 3pm. These lessons are designed to teach “Self Defence against Falls” in your day-to-day living and are a form of Tai Chi suited to arthritis sufferers. The charge is $4.

Our friendly crèche has trained teachers and high adult to child ratios on all sessions providing a warm, caring and stimulating the environment for your child. Morning tea is provided. We now provide 20 free hours for the over three age group.

WellElder provides physically and financially accessible specialist counselling for people aged 60 and over (55 and over if Maori or Pasifika) living in the Capital & Coast District Health Board area. Appointments are held at the Johnsonville Community Centre as well as their office in Newtown and community centres in Porirua and Paraparaumu, and in clients’ homes and rest homes when mobility is an issue.

You can borrow the Kai Cooker from the Johnsonville Community Centre for free to help with catering for neighbourhood and community events – there is a $50 bond.

The MultiKai cooker has 4 baskets and can cook for up to 40 people.
