Early Impressions Childcare

Our friendly, supervised crèche is staffed by qualified early childhood professionals that know how to entertain, educate and care for your wee one. Please feel free to come and have a look around or phone Paula on (04) 478 7553 for further information about how we operate.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

We provide free, confidential, independent information and advice to anyone on any subject. We help people know what their rights are and how to access services they need. JP clinics (Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat, 10am-12pm, just walk in) and legal clinics most Thursdays 6pm-7pm (by appointment only).

The Opportunity Shop

Good-quality, stylish clothing and various items are available at a very reasonable cost from our opportunity shop. Donations of goods and clothing are always welcome and all money raised is returned to the community. Sale Day is on the last Saturday of the month. Fill a bag for $5.

Wendy Dawson, MNZCCA – Counselling (adults,couples and adolescents)

Wendy has been counselling for over 10 years. She helps with issues such as relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger, abuse, PTSD, work place conflict, stress management, self esteem, communication skills and adolescent issues. She provides a safe, accepting and non-judgemental environment for you to work through your issues.

Wendy is a qualified counsellor and supervisor with:

  • Bachelor of Counselling

  • Certificate in Supervision

  • Primary Certificate in CBT

  • MNZCCA, ACC Accredited

  • WINZ Subsidy Counselling

  • NZ Registered Nurse

Drama Therapy

Bas van der Hoeven conducts a drama therapy program at the Community Centre for clients with brain injuries, aspergers, the intellectually disabled, bipolar, conduct disorder and other psychological conditions.
